Workshop Overview

The workshop has been structured to equip transplant coordinators with an in-depth understanding of organ donation and transplantation, with particular emphasis on the legal and ethical framework governing the field.

The programme shall provide a comprehensive overview of the coordination processes involved in organ donation and transplantation, with a specific focus on Donation after Brain Death (DBD), Donation after Circulatory Death (DCD) and the unique complexities associated with Living Donor Liver Transplantation.

Learning objectives

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge on Donation after circulatory death (DCD) in India, including the associated legal and ethical frameworks.
  • Understand the processes and current status of Donation after brainstem death (DBD).
